Rotary International has declared the month of September to be Basic Education and Literacy Month. Clubs are encouraged to consider doing the following:
- Invite influential individuals to read aloud to children
- Collect books and school supplies for youth in need
- Network with teachers and librarians, seek youth who require tutoring
- Explore mentoring opportunities
- Assist those in need with ESL (English as a Second Language)
- Share Rotary Scholarship information with parents
