Planting a “Rain Garden” in Shorewood Park (Forest Ave. just north of the fire station) organized by the Wilmette Park District, is rescheduled to Friday, October 9 from 9:00 - 11 am. A Rain Garden will reduce flooding by capturing excess water to keep the park and streets from pooling. It also provides food and shelter for bees, butterflies and birds using native plants.
