Uganda Project:  We heard back from RI about our $2 million Rotary Program of Scale application, which we submitted on August 1. We were accepted to move on to phase II of the competition, as were two other groups, one in the USA and the other from Columbia. Our full application is due on January 8, with site visits scheduled for the second week in February.  An international team, including our club (led by Steve Jambor), plans to serve 500,000 healthy deliveries in Uganda and surrounding countries. Our proposed budget is $5.8 million over four years. Last Saturday, the Uganda district leadership held a meeting to rally the clubs in Uganda to participate in the grant by supporting health centers and their local communities.

Chitokoloki Mission Hospital Project in Zambia, led by Ray Zeiss, is a global grant. Ray has successfully funded the grant ($48k) with the participation of other clubs in the district. The site assessment has been completed. The local district is contributing $2,000 in DDF, which RI will match at 80%.  The Global Grant application is complete. We are still waiting for the final signatures from the district in Zambia before moving the project to the review phase.
