Discussion on Racism

Lisa will share her own personal experience with racism and discrimination.  She will share her insights into the current cultural shifts, Black Lives Matter, and what all of us can do to support a unified community.

Lisa was born and raised in New Orleans, where she graduated pharmacy school at Xavier University of Louisiana, before moving to Chicago nearly 30 yrs ago.  After working for a few years as a traditional pharmacist, Lisa transitioned her career to the pharmaceutical industry where she has worked in a variety of roles for more than 25 yrs.  During that time, she attended Loyola University to earn an MBA, an Masters Degree in Marketing and to start a family.  She is the proud parent of two children, a rising college sophomore and a rising college freshman.  Her community involvement during her years living in Lake County has included volunteering for multiple agencies and serving as a Board of Director member for non-profit organizations that focus on education and health.

Lisa prefers to speak without slides to make it more conversational. We would love to present some questions ahead of time so that Lisa can weave some of your topics into her discussion.  Please submit your questions for Lisa by Monday, Sept 7 to bdewall@comcast.net.
