We had an outstanding presentation from Lucretzia Jamison, Executive Director for the Youth Job Center located in Evanston. The Youth Job Center has been in operation for 21 years and equips youth with a plan, a path and a placement towards economic independence. They do this through job coaching, readiness training, financial coaching. In 2024 they served over 2000 young people. They are currently partnering with Chicago Public Schools and Evanston Township High School. Their structured training typically has their students on their way to a good paying job in 3-12 months. They also work with the Trade Collective which has recently spoken to our Club.
Additionally, we had an international visitor -- Rotarian Murray Wilson from the Rotary Club of Rowville Lysterfield near Melbourne, Australia. While we were having technical display issues for the main presentation, he filled in and told us about some of his Club's activities and projects. He will be District Governor for District 9815 in 2027-28.
